Dubai Islands- a dream place to visit!

This article is written intending to provide information about the Dubai islands which are so beautiful they might be a possibility for being the world’s eighth wonder.

The best view of the islands you might get is through an aerial view in a helicopter. Another surprising piece of information is that these beautiful islands are man-made. They look so natural it is hard to distinguish them as artificial.

The islands have been constructed over many years requiring expertise in construction with precision and also a lot of effort.  An extraordinary team of engineers, architects and scientists have made this possible.
The islands are comprised of four islands – Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira, Palm Jumeirah and The World. The Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira and Palm Jumeirah constitute together the Palm Islands each built in the shape of a date palm tree. The World is a recent addition.

Palm Jumeirah is the first island created in 2001 with people moving in into the residences on the beach around 2006. This island was actually created to solve the problem of deficiency in Dubai of beaches. This island was imagined by the ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who had the idea of creating an island in the form of a palm tree from a picture he had drawn of a palm since its branches would provide more beach facade. The island hosts the Jumeirah Beach which also has the Burj Al Arab – the only seven-star hotel in the world as of 2010.

Another such attraction on this island is the Palm Island Resort Dubai which is house to luxury resorts and accommodations.

Palm Jebel Ali was started to be constructed in October 2002 and lies near the industrial free trade zone. The island is estimated to provide accommodation to around 1.7 million people by 2020. Its 50% larger compared to Jumierah and is based on the theme of entertainment. This has led to it housing six marinas, houses built on poles above the water, boardwalks circling branches of the palm, water theme park and a “Sea Village”.

Palm Deira is the third man made Palm Island and its construction began in October 2007. It is the largest among all the palm islands and is situated on the coast of Deira beach. Its theme is residential thus consisting of residential properties, shopping malls, facilities of sport, clubs, marinas etc.

The World is the most recent addition to islands in Dubai and consists of a collection of 300 private islands that are shaped in the way of the world map. This island is situated 4 kilometers from the shore of Jumeirah.
Another planned man-made island is on the way called as Universe. It’ll be formed in the shape of the solar sytem and was announced in 2008.

The tour of Dubai will be absolutely incomplete without the visit to these astounding Dubai islands. These islands really show the extent to which man can use his creativity to create marvels in this world.
